No Medium Love Lost

Staff Writer: Grave Digger

In a move that has fueled the feud between the peacock and the eye, NBC canceled its five year mid-season replacement: Medium.

In a related story, CBS has decided to keep Medium going (it's a CBS TV studio production) and place the show between Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs.

CBS has floundered to find a show besides Moonlight to fill the chasm on Friday nights.

NBC let go not only Medium but My Name is Earl. Where's NBC going besides bankrupt?

The lineup is already streamlined. I hope the peacock doesn't believe Jay Leno in the last prime time slot five nights a week will save a captain-less ship.

Discover the Ultimate Conspiracy Theory

Staff Writer: Samuntha Mackenzie

4 out of 5 Shovels
On the heels of Angels and Demons, the Discovery Channel has put together an interesting fact or fiction segment. The show goes point by point- novel versus reality as Angels vs. Demons.

A drive through Rome's streets and a walk amongst the churches, Dan Brown has constructed an impressive route. From Bernini statues to obelisks, we follow the Path to Enlightenment. Direction of the mind, body, and soul is conceived in the writing.

Discovery determines where fact ends and fantasy begins. Conspiracy theories abound in the story. Many of us have already figured most of those theories out. Some were not so obvious.

The show was thoughtful and entertaining, well worth the time spent. If you're into conspiracy theories or Dan Brown novels, then this foray will not disappoint.

Until the next book hits the shelves, this imaginative view of fiction gives us more then a few facts for us to think about. Why, we ask?

To have a show illuminate the truth from a write of fiction, it seems like overkill. The popularity of the books are one reason. The next reason is to dispel darkness from certain religious affiliations. Perhaps the last reason is to curtail Dan Brown fans from flooding Rome- the Italians don't have the route signs up yet. Or, maybe it's something else . . .

All this information to protect a church? What kind of conspiracy theory would Dan Brown label that as?

Psychic Kids Returning

Staff Writer: Grave Digger

Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal has been renewed for a second season. The only place I could find to verify this was a television resource database.

The second season has no premiere date as of yet and is slated for eight episodes.

Perhaps as the summer season heats up, A&E will begin its promotion of the series.

Blood Ties

Staff Writer: Samuntha Mackenzie

3 3/4 out of 5 Shovels
Unfortunate as it is, Lifetime decided not to renew Blood Ties.

This program was based on Tanya Huff’s vampire series. A private detective named, Vicki, who used to be a cop before her sight is threatened by a degenerative disease finds a vampire. Over 400 years old, Henry causes problems in Vicki’s life. With Mike, her ex-partner helping her on cases, the love triangle heats up with every plot twist.

Blood Ties was a creative and interesting television show. The characters were authentic. The story lines were strange and new. Of course, a cult following spurred a second season.

If you haven’t seen this program, missed an episode, or revisit an episode, you’re in luck. Lifetime still has episodes online to view.

We'll also let you know when the series hits DVD.
