Review: The Real Ghost Ship

Staff Writer: Grave Digger

2 out of 5 shovels
The Queen Mary, the real ghost ship; produced and directed by Michael Moody; is a documentary that follows a ghost hunting team through the large ship. Some historical information is given as well as witness stories.

The score is an odd accompaniment at times. The sound is somewhat unclear at others. The documentary itself was not exciting but informative.

A good forty-five minute film for the paranormal buff to see the inner workings of the famous ship.

State of Paranormal

Staff Writer: Grave Digger

A few weeks ago Paranormal State debuted its new season. I hoped PRS would investigate hauntings and they do but . . . the dark rears its ugly shadow. I understand dark and evil beings do haunt people. I realize the bad cannot be ignored.

On the same note, too much emphasis on the darkness and it will find you. the laws of attraction dictate it so.

Instead of playing into the hands of beings who do not need their help, PRS should concentrate on spirits and people who do.

Paranormal State has episodes I refer to as: the Catholic edition. Priests, bibles, and rosaries are often employed to solve problems. Those techniques are viable solutions, but why must I watch them?

I want to go on a ghost hunt. I am aware dark forces dwell but several times a season? Paranormal State tries to differentiate itself from other paranormal shows. I get it. I just wish the darkness had less availability and viability, especially through the television.

It would be different if there was a moral to the story. The wrongfulness of conjuring or worshiping certain things is not brought up. PRS must remain neutral to some point but people should understand what they reap: they sow, so don't.

I hope the rest of the season becomes more positive and not fall into the devil's trap.

Watch it Tuesday nights before Paranormal Cops on A&E.

Adventures in Ghost-Sitting

Staff Writer: Grave Digger

4 out of 5 shovels
This season of Ghost Adventures is over. Nick, Zak, and Aaron are probably out tracking down more ghosts on their lockdowns. Lest we wait another six months before we see them again.

The shows this year were much better then the first season we saw. Ghost Adventures has a nice tone, voice, and mood set by the three hunters. Direction is much better.

The audience loves to hear the background, history of haunted locations as well as the evidence collected.

We only hope the Travel Channel extends the next season by several more episodes.

Psychic Kids Returning

Staff Writer: Grave Digger

Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal has been renewed for a second season. The only place I could find to verify this was a television resource database.

The second season has no premiere date as of yet and is slated for eight episodes.

Perhaps as the summer season heats up, A&E will begin its promotion of the series.

Hauntings in America

Staff Writer: Samuntha Mackenzie

3 out of 5 Shovels
A two disc documentary series is hosted by Michael Dorn and Christopher Lewis. Witness accounts are infused with reenactments. One disc travels to eleven different locations from Hollywood to Louisiana. The other disc goes from Gettysburg to Tennessee.

Paranormal stories about ghosts and the unexplained show the darker side of life.

With no extras on the DVD, most of the stories keep the viewer interested. Though Lewis’s narrative is more animated, then Dorn’s interpretation, both discs are interesting and informative.
