James McAvoy of Narnia fame will team up with director Matthew Vaughn to do X-Men: First Class. the story of Charles Xavier and Eric Lensher. With Bryan Singer's story, we get to see the beginning of their friendship and rift that forms between them.

Bryan Singer is also producing the project with Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg.

Filming is set for London this summer with an estimated release date of June 3, 2011

Franchise Flirtation

Ghostbusters might be back. That’s right kids: who you gonna call? Bill Murray? Dan Ackroyd? Ernie Hudson? Or even, Harold Ramis?

Since Tarzan and Poltergeist are on the chopping block of Frankensteinian Hollywood reinvention, Ghostbusters appears to be on that surgical table too.

After two successful films, do we dare try for a trilogy? The one person I have not heard coming back for a Ghostbusters III is Sigorney Weaver. Where is our heroine?

Anyway, the movie will hand over the reigns to: Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, James Franco and Michael Cera.

But the biggest question is: Is Hollywood tired out? Remake after remake, book into television series and movies, is Hollywood in the middle of writer’s block? Identity crisis? Better yet: Middle Life Crisis?

Creative ideas are abundant, unfortunately Hollywood doesn’t know what do with them. Or rather, doesn’t know how to sell them. Back to the drawing board, boys, and bring that unknown book, comic, and dartboard with you!

Princess of Thieves

Gwyn is the daughter of the most famous hoodlum in history. Her father is Robin Hood. But her fire and rebellious nature simmer under the surface. She ready to fight. She ready for action.

Robin quells her. He doesn’t realize Gwyn is impulsive. Just like him.

Just as King Richard succumbs to death, Prince Phillip is on his way to the throne. Prince John could succeed to King if Phillip is eliminated. Add the evil Sheriff of Nottingham, Friar Tuck, Froderick, and Merry Men and the fight begins.

Keira Knightley, Malcolm McDowell, Del Synnott, Stuart Wilson, Crispin Letts, Roger Ashton-Griffiths, Jonathan Hyde, and Stephen Moyer are believable as characters from centuries past.

This film is a good live-action Disney flick. Comic book violence and innocent romance are a part of this movie, but so is the relationship between father and daughter.

At 88 minutes and a PG rating, this movie is good for the underage crowd.
