Cinema Adventures - Gold Coast

Staff Writer: Grave Digger

With $150 million in film revenue per annum, Gold Coast (City), Queensland, Australia is the third most profitable in the entertainment industry for Australia. The first and second most popular are Sydney and Melbourne. Within the Gold Coast, Warner Bros Movie World has roots as a theme park and home to Warner Roadshow Studios.

The Studio boasts: ". . . 8 sound stages, one indoor water tank, two indoor tanks one being the largest purpose built film water tank in Australia, 10 production areas, construction workshops, onsite support facilities, 2 wardrobe and laundry facilities, accounting services, screening and editing, preview theatrette, visual effects studio, film processing, post production, travel and freight services, and much more."

Many films and shows have been shot in this facility and the next one is the third installment of The Chronicles of Narnia. Already shooting June of 2009 and into mid-November (December?) 2009, the film with a budget of $150 will bring needed employment to the area.

Check out pictures from the Gold Coast. The place is gorgeous. Tall buildings, coastline views, breath-taking scenery, one day I will go.
